As a member of the American Academy of Audiology, you have access to numerous volunteer opportunities that will help you achieve your personal and professional goals. Volunteers are integral to the Academy's success; whether it be a few hours or a few hundred hours, we appreciate all levels of service. Remember, you put the 'U' in VOLUNTEER!
HOW TO APPLY
If you are interested in volunteering with the Academy, please login to the Audiology Community and opt-in to our Volunteer Pool. Once you have opted in, you will be able to explore the many volunteer opportunities available. Opportunities are updated on an ongoing basis with most committee and subcommittee work beginning on October 1. Task force, working group, and micro-volunteer opportunities are offered on an as needed basis with varying timelines. A full tutorial about navigating the volunteer portion of the Community is available at the bottom of this page.

LEVELS OF SERVICE
In July 2017, the Academy Board of Directors approved a new organizational structure that integrates the partners across the Academy and aligns the work of the organization. The new structure includes councils, which brings an additional layer in the governance of the organization: Leadership, Academic & Professional Standards, Professional Development, Scientific Advisory & Research, Advocacy, and Outreach. The many committees and task forces that do much of the work of the organization report to the councils or, in some instances, directly to the Academy Board of Directors. A model of the councils and committees is available to provide further detail on how they function within the governance structure as well as a visual representation of the councils, committees, and task forces.
