Within the hearing practice, there is a lot of technology being used to help it run more efficiently and effectively. And when the team is experiencing turnover or staffing shortages, it can be helpful to make sure you are optimizing that technology. Your practice management software (PMS) provides information and data to help inform business decisions. Here are four ways to help you get the most out of your software.
#1: Assess Your Team Needs
Start by determining tasks that can be simplified through technology. For instance, appointment reminders and other patient communications can shift from phone calls to automated texts and emails.
#2: Start with the Latest Version
Just as technology advances, software is often updated to deliver better functionality and user experience. If it’s been a while since you’ve updated your PMS, that’s a great place to start.
#3: Get to Know Your PMS
There may be functionality that you are unaware of and could be taking advantage of. For example, CareCredit is integrated into many PMS platforms, making it easier and more efficient for patients to see if they prequalify for the CareCredit credit card, process transactions, submit applications, and more.
#4: Tap into Training
Most software providers offer training that can provide insights on how to best use specific functionality. Appropriate team training helps ensure they are comfortable and proficient in using the technology.
